Project Officer
Rocky Vale Villa Veterans Support Project
Golden Square & Long Gully Veterans Centre Inc.
Maiden Gully, VIC | October 2024 – Present
Appointed to lead stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and community outreach for the Rocky Vale Villa Veterans Support Project, a 150-acre development at 7 Wicks Road, Maiden Gully. The project aims to deliver 100 affordable homes dedicated to veterans, integrated with support services and embedded within Victoria’s long-term housing and planning strategies.
Golden Square & Long Gully Veterans Centre Inc. (ABN 96 208 517 017) is a registered charity endorsed by the ACNC with GST and income tax concessions. As Project Officer, I helped secure endorsements from veteran organisations including the Vietnam Veterans Peacekeepers & Peacemakers Association of Australia Central Coast Sub Branch Inc. (affiliated with the Vietnam Veterans Federation Inc), supporting a “Veterans Helping Veterans” model based on lived experience and peer-led service.
Promoted a triage-style support system offering warm handovers rather than referrals, focused on housing, retraining, crisis accommodation, and long-term reintegration. Advocated for alignment with the Maiden Gully Precinct Structure Plan and the Bendigo Residential Development Strategy to ensure the project meets both veteran needs and local growth planning objectives.
Highlighted the project’s semi-rural, therapeutic setting as ideal for recovery and social reconnection, with links to waterways, open space, and essential services. Coordinated veteran engagement and cross-organisational cooperation to position the precinct as a leading model for veteran-led development and support infrastructure in regional Victoria.
